I continue to utilize the techniques and information you passed along during our work together last summer. What a great investment!
~ T. Moran, senior finance manage
I expected a career coach to have an expert understanding of corporate politics at mid and senior management levels. Janine Moon consistently brought that expertise to our sessions. Utilizing well thought out and pointed questions, she helped me identify organizational behavior patterns I wanted to change. Then we could work on a strategy for positive change.
Every session was rich in insights into my organizational behavior, my thinking, my environmental reactions. It was like having a friend and co-worker whom you trust and respect really help you in dedicated hour-long "lets talk about me, my job, my issues" sessions...if the friend was a professional with 20 years of experience organizational behavior and career management! After 15 minutes of working with Janine, the value of her experience to address my issues became obvious.
Janine earned my respect in the first session when she was able to ask incisive questions and quickly strip away the extraneous to identify the meat of the issues. She is a quick study and she knows how to keep you focused on your personal objectives, so together you can identify a reasonable action plan to achieve them.
I came to Janine thinking I had issues A,B and C. Wrong! Janine used professional and proven analytic techniques to help me quickly assess my real issues. That was a huge time saver right away! The right strategy to attack the wrong problem helps no one.
~ M. Bennett, retail industry executive
You are a terrific listener, you key in on certain behaviors/language that helps you understand what someone may be wanting/needing even if they do not know it themselves. You ask a lot of questions that in turn help you to realize yourself what you need to do - the light bulb goes off in your own head instead of you having to say what should be done.
~ K. Johnson, insurance manager
Janine is a great listener and has exhibited the talent and the experience to tailor her program to my needs which is anything but the run of the mill. She helped me, through unique tests/questionnaires, to understand areas where I needed to focus on and provided me with simple but effective tools to develop a program and track progress. They were so useful that I recommended them to my brother and cousin (who are system engineers) to help achieve their own career goals. More than anything else, I am most appreciative of the fact that she did not put me through some predetermined program but attempted to understand where I am coming from and help me shape my own program to help myself -- after all, no one can really help you but yourself.
~ R. Mangipudi, exec finance manager
The process of self-discovery and self-definition is not easy. It takes time and commitment, for no one can tell you what you "should" do except yourself. Yet, like all good coaches, Janine will challenge you to reach beyond your perceived limitations. Through a detailed process, thoughtful observations and honest discussion, Janine will help you explore the way you work and how you can find enjoyment in what you do. I again want to thank you, both professionally and personally. You truly helped see me through a very dark time. Our sessions were times I looked forward to and the exercises gave me purpose. In short, it was worth every penny.
~ C.Gagin, attorney
Janine is always honest. She presented a realistic assessment of my situation, and helped me to develop strategies to find work I liked to do. During our coaching relationship, we set goals together and she encouraged me to do the things necessary for success. Janine also teaches her clients how to “network”. Being able to make the most of the professional contacts I had developed over the years is crucial in finding meaningful work and developing lasting professional relationships.
~ M. Biggert, Director
After working on the process for several weeks it is apparent to me that at least one of the tangible benefits [of coaching] has been an increased appreciation for my own skills, experience and history. By taking an inventory of who I am and what I have to offer, coupled with the development of my CAR stories (which were also a retrospective journey in themselves) I have a better appreciation for past and present accomplishments. This has resulted in overall increased confidence in my abilities, which is essential not only if you are going to embark on a job search but also if you are fully engaged in any leadership position or perhaps any other endeavor.
~ Chief Operating Officer, Legal Services Firm
Janine provides what all good coaches provide: a belief in her "athlete", knowledge of ways to improve form for maximum results, praise and acknowledgement, and a kick in the pants when needed. Even when pointing out weaknesses, she is always kind and upbeat. With someone like her believing in me, it became nearly impossible not to believe in myself.
~ B. Donley, attorney
"I am a successful communications executive that was at an impasse in my search for a new career opportunity. I didn't completely understand why, with smarts, savvy and all the other "right stuff." In addition to seeking feedback from mentors, colleagues, friends and networking associates, I had dealt with enough frustration to want to cut to the chase. That's what I got from CompassPoint - straight, unbiased answers to how I even may have been sabotaging my job search process. As a coach, I found Janine Moon to be insightful and direct, while also being encouraging and forward thinking. I ultimately landed a great position and quickened my search once I incorporated her invaluable knowledge."
~ Vice President, Financial Services
I am not a “born salesmen” and even though I have a lot to offer, selling myself to a new company has been a challenge. Most people (including other career advisors) I have sought advice from during my job past searches listened for a few minutes and then told me what they thought I should do. Janine has been helpful because she listens and helps me focus on what I have to offer in my particular situation but have not been able to clarify for myself.
